The job was started and completed within 3 days and looks absolutely fantastic. Neighbours are commenting on how good it looks and asking who did it for us. They started with rough ground containing large tree stumps, buried concrete and tarmac and removed it all, replacing it with even ground well bedded in and including a full size membrane to prevent weed growth. The result is a large, smooth surface of coloured blocks which matches the brickwork of the house.
The only negative was the way James Connor continually harassed us for payment having originally stated that we could take our time and pay once satisfied. Apart from this, the guys were efficient, helpful and very polite and worked hard to produce what seems like a quality job.

Driveline responded to the job via Bark.
Very keen to do the job and started immediately after we verbally agreed what was going to be done.
Removing and repointing patio, clean up and make like new. Andy worked hard to remove all the obvious loose bits and repoint, whilst another washed the residue of the patio. All looked very nice on completion but now that the patio has had a properly washed to remove all the loose sand you can see the pointing is not very clean, looks messy.
The Drive was to remove all existing, weed and replace with new shingle, looks nice but it was just a clean up, weedkiller and add new shingle, no replacement of membrane.
I would suggest getting a written quote with details of the job and price as the completed work didn’t match up to the sale or price.
I should have read the previous reviews on Bark before committing, James is very pushy and even though we agreed cash on completion he was pushing for payment during the job.

James came round to give a valuation within couple of days of the enquiry.
Work was started in 4 days of the valuation.
The work has not been completed and took all the money.
It has been over a month and they were suppose to come back and finish the work.
Now James is voiding my calls.
To be honest would not recommend this company no one.

Driveline did a phenomenal job on my patio garden. It took only two days to remove over 100 box bushes, level the garden, put down a weed mat add sand and flatten it and then lay the block paving. James has a brilliant team of lovely guys who work every second they are there. I recommend them highly and can’t understand a negative review about them. I will review the job again in six months time when it has settled.

James is untrustworthy and a cowboy. He hassled me for work and hustled me for money. He took £1,750 upfront (he initially tried to hustle me for £3000!!) to install a couple of fence panels, a custom made gate with key lock and latch, a raised step/ platform to mitigate change in level, clear site of branches and remove the old 5m chainlink fence. All I got was £450 worth of cheap fencing, badly installed and he didnt clear a thing.
When I got to inspect the work it was INCOMPLETE and shoddy. The gate was NOT custom made NOR 1000mm wide. There was NO latch or lock on the gate. NO ramp or step. The did NOT clear the cut branches, the old chain link, the empty cement bags or rubbish created. He did NOT event take the old fence post out, and as they are on the street side not only are they visble and look sh@t, they cant be removed without removing the fence. Neighbour keep having ago at me for how bad it looks.
Before he went silent I had Watapp msg in which he ‘offered’ to pay if I arranged for someone else to finish it, and ‘agreed’ to rebate £608 but excuses for not paying include claiming he needs my money to pay for co-workers Andy’s funeral. People like this erode goodwill and trust in human nature. Cannot criticise enough. Do not deserve 1 star!

I hired Driveline Paving And Patios, run by James, to install a new patio at my property. From the outset, James assured me that no payment would be required until the job was completed to my satisfaction. However, just two days after starting, he began pressuring me for payment and even threatened to abandon the job and leave the site in a mess if I didn’t pay immediately. I reluctantly paid in good faith.

Once the patio was completed, I discovered multiple serious issues:

The patio was laid only 40mm below the damp proof course (DPC), falling well short of the 150mm industry standard. This is a basic requirement to prevent damp and moisture problems and could result in long-term property damage.

Several slabs were wobbly and poorly bedded. James did return to fix these after complaints, but during the repair he left visible dents and damage to multiple tiles, further compromising the quality and appearance.

My lawn was damaged due to prolonged storage of materials on it, resulting in dead grass, and cement was left on the surface, leaving lasting stains.

Despite repeated promises to come back and put things right, James failed to show up and eventually stopped responding entirely. No resolution or accountability was ever offered.

This entire experience was frustrating, stressful, and costly. The poor workmanship, broken promises, aggressive payment demands, and lack of aftercare demonstrate a complete lack of professionalism. I am now facing potential legal action to recover the cost of repairs and damage.

Do not trust James or Driveline Paving And Patios with your home. Avoid this company at all costs.
